Plaster Moulds

Our casting molds are mainly used in the hobby and therapy sector for the rapid production of ceramic blanks. A distinction is made between the solid casting process (usually plates) and the hollow process. In full casting, liquid casting compound is often poured into one sprue hole until it rises again from the second sprue hole. With hollow casting molds, the slip remains in the mold for approx. 15 - 45 minutes, depending on the desired body thickness - care must be taken to ensure that there is always enough slip in the area of the protection! With both methods, the plaster mold can be opened and the blank removed after a drying time of 1-2 hours. The protection can be cut off with a plastic knife shortly after the slip has been poured out (when the wall has solidified) or with a sharp knife when it is leather-hard.
