Raku Glazes
The raku technique, which is a century-old technique for the production of tea cups for tea ceremonies, still offers exciting moments when the glowing ceramics are taken out of the kiln and after the smoking incite individual effects. Characteristic by the shock-like cooling are the large craquelling networks which are caused by the smoke upon reduction in e.g. saw dust, pine needles, etc. are visible.
