Basic equipment:
Top-loading kiln for propane operation with manual gas control and temperature measuring device.
Application:
It is used everywhere where reduction effects are required (reduction glazings / pure white porcelain), but also in rural areas, where a appropriate power supply only to be installed with a high effort. It should be noted that during the greenware firing a slightly worser temperature distribution and mainly a faster temperature gradient occur than in an electric kiln, so that only very dry and "less sensitive" goods should be green-fired. Except for the TG 80 model, the gas kiln are delivered with a 2-way bottle plug (for fitting to a corresponding propane gas bottle battery).
Set-up:
The installation is usually carried out on covered spaces so that the exhaust gases can escape unhindered upwards into the open air. Propane gas operation in cellar rooms is generally not permitted. For domestic use an exhaust hood can be supplied as an option, which must be connected to a chimney to be installed by the customer. Normally, the chimney connection is to be made flexible, otherwise the kiln lid can not be opened (alternatively: kiln on castors with not too sensitive, sure standing goods and level ground).
Optional automatic operation (temporary not available):
Optionally, automatic gas control with controller TC 507 as well as equipment with natural gas burners (compressed air supply) is possible.
The automatic gas control clocks relays between the basic load and the full load (similar to the electric kiln).
If reduction effects are desired for glazes / porcelain, then the burner has to be disconnected from the automatic to the hand connector shortly before reaching the firing temperature, and the flue damper has to be closed stepwise (as in the case of manual gas control).
